The Barnstaple shop has moved location!

After many years in the Pannier Market, our Barnstaple fudge pantry has moved to its new home at 11 Holland Walk, just off the High Street towards the cattle market car park.

Barnstaple is a very special shop in Roly’s history. It first opened in 1989, making it one of the very first Roly’s Fudge Pantries – and now our oldest original shop.

After running Roly’s Fudge Barnstaple since 2000, Maggie has now retired. We’d like to say a huge thank you to her for everything she has given to the shop and to Roly’s over the years.

Taking over are Stuart and Victoria, who also run Roly’s Fudge Ilfracombe – another special shop in our story, originally taken on by Stuart’s parents as the very first Roly’s franchise.

Although the shop has moved, some familiar pieces have come along too. The original Roly’s man, who stood outside the Pannier Market shop for many years, is still with us, and the old counter has been repurposed as the packing station. You’ll also spot one of our old copper pans on the marble table – the same pan used when Roly’s went to Harrods to make fudge in store.

And of course the fudge is still made in the same traditional way: fresh in front of our customers, using the same methods and ingredients that have been at the heart of Roly’s since the beginning!

Please do pop in, say hello to Stuart and Victoria, and enjoy the same traditional crumbly fudge as ever!
